Sometimes, clients come with a pre-selected HTML template that they want to use for their website — but also need CMS functionality to manage their content easily. In such cases, WordPress is the ideal solution. I integrate their chosen HTML design into a custom WordPress build, combining their preferred layout with the flexibility and power of a full content management system.

Before building a theme, I review the client’s goals and the reasoning behind their chosen template. I discuss which sections they want, whether any custom sections are required, and how the template should adapt to their content. I then perform a thorough template analysis and determine which plugins and tools are needed — all before writing a single line of code.

Recognizing that single product pages required dynamic data handling, I developed a custom single-product.php template within the theme structure. To manage project-specific content, I registered a custom post type named “Project” using WordPress core functions. For flexible data management, I integrated ACF Pro (Advanced Custom Fields) to define custom meta fields, enabling structured data input and seamless rendering on the frontend. This approach ensured a modular, scalable, and easily maintainable codebase aligned with WordPress development best practices.

To ensure full control over global layout elements, I implemented editable header and footer sections through the WordPress dashboard. Using ACF Pro, I registered a Global Settings options page via the acf_add_options_page() function. This page centralizes all header and footer fields, allowing non-technical users to update content dynamically. The data is rendered in the theme using get_field() and the_field() functions, ensuring clean separation between content and presentation while maintaining a scalable, modular theme architecture.

All pages were developed using custom WordPress page templates to achieve complete design and layout flexibility. I created dedicated templates for key pages such as the Homepage, About, Services, Blog, and Contact. Each template was built from scratch to align with the project’s visual and functional requirements.

For dynamic content management, I integrated Advanced Custom Fields Pro (ACF Pro), defining custom field groups for each page to control text, images, and layout components directly from the WordPress dashboard. This approach ensured a fully modular structure, clean separation of data and presentation, and streamlined client-side content updates without altering the codebase.
